Latest announcement on YouTube:
The 1989 World Tour will be available on Apple Music Dec. 20th.
Will you buy it? What do you think about the fact that it is most likely to be only released on Apple Music, not on Blu Ray or anything else?

I'm pretty excited for this. I had Apple Music for the 3-month free trial back when it launched, but I cancelled it before the first pay cycle started. I'll definitely renew my subscription and pay for it in order to get 1989 World Tour Live on December 20. So far there isn't any information regarding a physical release; all I have seen mentioned is that this will be exclusive to Apple Music.
I hope it does get an eventual physical release because I love physical CDs from Taylor, but digital will have to suffice if or until a physical release is made. I also hope it gets a physical release because a physical DVD is tangible and concrete; digital items are not subjected to stick around forever. Aside from that, I'm really excited for this. I've heard the soundboard recordings from her Tokyo shows, but I'm really excited for the audio that this film will have, and of course I'm excited for the visuals. I haven't even bothered trying to watch youtube videos because they show the concerts for what they really were.
It still stinks that the Red Tour was left out in the cold in regards to a concert film, but I'm so glad that she changed her mind about this tour. I can't say that I am all that surprised, however. Taylor has been so proud of everything having to do with 1989, including the tour, and so I think it makes sense that she would want to share it with as many people as possible. She probably understood how upset the fanbase was about the Red Tour's lack of a concert film, so that probably influenced her decision.

Taylor will do an interview with Zane Lowe for Beats 1 (Apple Music).
I will be at work when the interview will be broadcasted live, but I'll listen to it after.

Is there a way to download stuff when you have Apple Music and keep it when you unsubscribe? I never tried it, but I'm thrilled about this concert film.
Although it looks like it will only be released on Apple Music I still hope that it will be released on DVD/Blu-Ray. I'm sort of a collector, I love to put them on a shelf, like the CDs. Last February I bought the Speak Now World Tour CD+DVD while on vacation in the U.S., after that amazing show I tried to find one of the Red Tour and was so sad that there wasn't one

You can't download any of the content, you can only save it to iTunes or iPhone music app while being a subscriber. If we don't get a physical release, I hope we at least get a digital release because having an Apple Music membership just for this concert film would be like renting for a high price over and over. I collect Taylor CDs as well, so I'd love a physical DVD.

I watched the interview. I found it really interesting that Apple reached out to Taylor with the idea of filming/capturing the 1989 tour and being the medium through which to show it. If Apple truly did reach out to Taylor with the idea, it makes me think that Taylor probably wouldn't have done a concert film on her own without Apple's participation.

Another random question for Apple music users: when you download a video for offline watching, can you play the video with another player e.g. VLC? I know I'm a bit annoying, sorry

I know I'm a bit annoying, sorry No. From my understanding is; in order to download a video or music for offline watching/listening, you have to turn on a feature called iCloud Music Library and allow it to sync your library to iCloud. And then, whether on a computer, phone, iPod, or tablet, you can save videos or music from Apple Music onto the device you are using. So it will either play in iTunes or the music app if on an iOS device. And you're not annoying. It's good to ask questions.
