My swifty story... This could be a too loooong story if I tell all that passes through my mind. Sorry if I miswrite something. And sorry if this post is too long, I just needed to write it.
First of all, I'm spanish, from Madrid. Not so good in english. And born in 1989. I like science facts but I like "coincidences" facts too. There are studies that state that one person feels more related to another just because the one is told that both share a common fact or characteristic even if false. Also I like the coincidence of the birth, not only the fact.
I know Taylor in 2008 for a TV Advertisement of Love Story Ringtone. The first song of Taylor I heard. I think is worn-out for me.
Because of the single, I went to youtube and, day by day (not all the same day) heard all their debut songs Our Song Teardrops On My Guitar, Should've said no, Mary's Song. Each of these songs grow in my heart.
Our Song and: "Asking God if he could play it again".
Should've said no and the "under the rain" performance.
Mary's song made me cry because the story of the 80s (Taylor is such an old person in mind sometimes) and the similarities with my father and mother love story. I can't hear to mary's song because of this. Only 5 seconds of song give me goosebumps.
Because my perception of "all that TS write is great" I began to search not only for songs. But for official page, fan, etc. My feeling about fan of a pop artist in that moment is that if I admired an artist with no epic fails like, Not drugs, not alcohol, not "crazy" or "outrageous" moments would be easier to be a fan.
In that years I was more shy and insecure than now. For this reason I needed a safe artist. And Taylor Proved her worth.
After listening to the debut I listen to Fearless. Fearless sold in spain too, but my parents don't let me buy it. Now is only import.
I loved love story a lot, but when I get tired of Love Story I loved White Horse more. All the songs of fearless. Fifteen reminds me some class of phylosophy I took, "walked through the doors".
Jump then fall in Dancing with the stars.
The first CD I bought was Speak Now Deluxe Edition. With the Making Of videos, and the versions. In that year MTV Spain began in spain, and Mine was one of the most repeated song in the chanel (open in that year, pay, later).
Speak Now was my truly "Fan-for-life" album. Awesome album. Every song. I love speak now. I can sing any song of Speak Now by heart (in spanish this expression is "by memory"). Haunted and Enchanted are probably my favourites. But are no single. I loved Thanksgiving official video for Haunted and the orchestra, and the oscillatory neck movement of Taylor hearing the orchestra.
In the same era I bookmarked and emailed tayloswift.es the #1 fansite of Taylor Swift for spanish people and they gave me an "unofficial Fan ID":
flic.kr/p/AYx62D (front),
flic.kr/p/AkyYdi.
In 2011 Speak Now World Tour Taylor arrive spain. I bought a vip ticket. The vip was a fraud. Only common seats. I bought the 2011 tour t-shirt with the dates in the back. I bought the CD+DVD speak now world tour.
It's difficult for me not to rush into an era, and hear all. And the next year, I'm bored. And then hear another artist, and another. After speak now, I went less "obsessed" with Taylor related things like "charity Taylor" or anything Taylor and pursued other things, like writing, making a fictional universe, read sci-fi and fantasy, other artists, other things, etcetera.
When Red arrived like a "terrible angel" (I like angels of terrible beauty) beating record after record (like previous albums) I get caught busy with other things. I can't invest all my time in Taylor anymore. But Taylor always have a portion of my feelings. And so, I heard RED (a good and meaningful title IMO) and I thought "it's so damn good". Certain songs are standar in Taylor quality terms, not so good like holy ground IMO, but Starlight (ethel kennedy), All Too Well and The Moment I knew, are like: Oh my God! And a lot of singles (but singles are not the best of the album IMO). I liked the pick of Gary Lightbody because I hear Snow Patrol.
I liked I Almost Do, I think is so real. The feeling of "I almost call you".
I bought the Deluxe edition of RED. But I don't use my PC for disc. I think I only used the booklet. I hear the album in my phone, or my PC library, not in the physical dISC.
Taylor album anouncements are in august. For this reason I suspected the time of the new disc. But not suspected the title. My birthday year. With a title like that the album must be great. I bought 1989 only hearing the minimum about the album. I trusted in Taylor's quality. And like the GQ Magazine interview says: "Taylor was right again".
From 1989 I like most the ballads. I'm a bit exhausted about 1989. I give it a break.
And this is (for now) my swifty story. I hope all of you liked!
